This role is designed to support the Student Support Team in implementing academic and social emotional support and academic interventions for K-3rd grade students, in addition to supporting 1st-6th grade teachers with administrative tasks as well as daily recess duty. This staff member will:
- Create a positive, growth-oriented environment for students
- Collaborate in real time (during and after instruction) with general education, instructional coach, lead interventionist, and student support staff to develop and implement academic and social emotional interventions
- Create schedules of small group intervention, under direction of the intervention team lead and instructional coach, in partnership with teachers and lead interventionist
- Use accommodated teaching and learning materials that have been provided by the classroom or student support staff
- Guide children to utilize both hands-on and computer based academic interventions (ie Lexia, Moby Max, OG, guided reading)
- Assist with monitoring student progress with intervention, under direction of the intervention team lead and instructional coach
- Communicate with the student support staff, teachers, intervention lead, instructional coach, and school leaders about student strengths, needs, and progress while maintaining confidentiality and a presumption of competence
- Make copies and classroom materials, under guidance from classroom teachers
- Supervise lower and upper elementary students during daily recess, both indoors and outdoors
- Adhere to the norms, rules, regulations, and procedures of the Montessori environment and Compass community
Candidates for this position should:
- Have a desire to work with elementary aged children (K-6th grade) in a multi-age, Montessori environment
- Be flexible
- Have strong communication skills
- Have experience working in a professional, collaborative team
Hours: Part time, 22.5 hours/week (10:00am-2:30pm, with option for additional Aftercare hours, if interested)
Pay: $15-$22/hour+ dependent upon experience and qualifications
