Farm School Lead Math Guide Roles and Responsibilities Qualifications: BA, Montessori Credential, and state licensure a plus (Highly qualified) Responsibilities: Essential Functions ? Administer a high-quality Montessori-based Math curriculum as per the discipline taught. We use Montessori Integrated Math (Waski Math Curriculum) ? Work with an interdisciplinary team to create integrations within broader units of study related to all disciplines and practical life ? Promote a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small-group instruction, and student learning ? Conduct ongoing assessments of student learning and modify instructional methods to fit individual student needs, including students with special needs. ? Conduct individual and small group instruction as needed ? Instruct students in the principles of grace and courtesy ? Continue to acquire professional knowledge and learn about current developments in Montessori education and adolescent math education by participating in professional development and attending seminars ? Organize and maintain a system for accurate and complete record-keeping/reporting for all student activities, achievement, and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws ? Encourage parent involvement in a student's education and provide effective communication with students and parents ? Coordinate with other instructional staff to evaluate and assess the curriculum. ? Participate in faculty meetings and committees ? Participate in reflective Montessori practice in conjunction with Montessori Instructional Coach, Program Director, and/or Principal ? Supervise students in activities that take place out of the classroom during the school day, including activities involving school transportation ? Support and chaperone students in overnight trips ? Administer standardized tests in accordance with District and State testing requirements ? Teaching sex education workshops with 8th-grade students during various workshops over the course of the school year. ? Teaching an elective/self-expression class that may differ from the initial math teacher position. Sharing your interests and passions with students.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities ? Ability to work with Middle school students ? Ability to organize and coordinate work to ensure all students are being served in a high-quality environment every day ? Familiarity with the use of educational information systems, data analysis, and the formulation of action plans ? Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students ? Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents ? Ability to engage in self-evaluation about performance and professional growth. ? Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work. Job Type: Full-time Salary range: $47,000- $70,000 (depending on experience and education) |
